Coronavirus Has Killed More Americans Than The Wars Since The Korean War
CORONAVIRUS – The onslaught of the new coronavirus, COVID-19 has killed more Americans than than the previous pandemic, the Korean, and Vietnam wars.
Previously, American politicians, especially Donald Trump played down the coronavirus as being “Just a flu”. Now, the United States has become the worst coronavirus-hit country with the most number of deaths.
As it stands, the COVID-19 fatalities in the US had surpassed over 112,311 as of writing. Soon, this number would surpass the number of deaths during World War I (116,516 deaths).

Moreover, it also surpassed the number of fatalities in the Korean war (36,574) and the Vietnam war (58,220). However, the current pandemic is still far below the 1918 Spanish Flu which killed over 675,000.
But, the coronavirus is still one of the lowest causes of death in the US next to Alzheimer’s. Heart disease still ranks as the top cause of death with over 647,457 fatalities. Meanwhile, Alzheimer’s has 121,404 deaths.
Here are the charts taken from Fortune:
The wars and the pandemic are two very different causes of death. However, due to the large scale of the virus, it’s important to see the parallels between them.
Currently, instead of guns and bombs, the world is at war with an invisible and deadly opponent. Countries are still seeing increased cases of the virus daily with the global death toll now reaching close to 8 million.
Sadly, a vaccine has yet to be produced for the virus. However, several institutes have already began human trials for their coronavirus vaccines.
