Coronavirus Patient Dies After Jumping From Hospital Window
A coronavirus patient died after jumping from Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) hospital window.
A patient whose name was hidden died after jumping from the hospital window of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and landed on the cemented grounds. The hospital guard Manuel Osorno witnessed the incident.
Osorno saw the patient breaking the glass window of the isolation room wherein other coronavirus patients were admitted. The guard rushed to the third-floor room of the hospital’s North District Del Mar Building.
Unfortunately, Osorno did not make it because the unnamed patient has already jumped out of the window and died, according to Police Major Elisandro Quijano, chief of the Abellana Police Station.
“…While the witness (Osorno) was outside the said building, he actually saw the victim destroy the glass window of the room where he was isolated together with other confirmed positive COVID patients,” Quijano said.
Quijano said that the hospital management ordered to cremate the male patient’s body to prevent the possible spread of the disease.
