Generous Man Barters Car For Relief Goods For Those In Need

GENEROUS MAN BARTERS CAR – The barter community has ballooned over the past months thanks to the initiative of an Bacolod Attorney.

In a matter of weeks, the barter movement took cities by storm with the concept traversing the waters of the Philippines to islands such as Cebu. The concept of bartering dates back the ancient times where people would trade goods as a necessity.

However, some people were just less fortunate than others. Moreover, during this quarantine period, life was especially. Luckily, a man from a barter community in Cebu decided to barter his own car in exchange for groceries.

But, these groceries weren’t for him, but for those people less fortunate than himself.

Meet Mark Lorenze, a 35-year-old man who is a member of Cebu Barter Community. In the spirit of generosity, he bartered his 1993 Mitsubishi Lancer for goods. Lorenze got around P125,000 worth of groceries such as canned goods, noodles, and rice.

He then distributed these goods all over Cebu to the less fortunate. In a Facebook post, Lorenze said:

Para sa mga Orphanage, Poorest of the Poor (kana lang di mga badlungon) og uban pang mas nanginahanglan…og ayaw kamu pg duha2x og message kung gusto mo makadawat sa relief goods kay ako na ideliver sa tagsa2x ninyo nga balay (half ako idonate ang half ako irotate pra daghan pa matabangan)

(For the orphanage, the poorest sector and those less fortunate, don’t hesitate to message me if you need the goods. I will deliver them straight to your door). Additionally, he said that half of the groceries he got would be donated, while the other would be used for business so he could help more people.
