Cole Sprouse Says He Was Arrested, Zip-Tied At George Floyd Protest
COLE SPROUSE – American actor Cole Sprouse said he was arrested and zip-tied during George Floyd protest in Santa Monica.
An African-American named George Floyd died on May 25, 2020, after a police officer named Derek Cauvin knelt on his neck. The video footage of the incident in Minneapolis, Minnesota made global news.
Based on the preliminary autopsy, there was no sign that the 46-year-old man died of strangulation. His family requested an independent autopsy. In a previous article, the medical examiners revealed that Floyd died from “asphyxiation from sustained pressure.”
Videos George Floyd’s protesters destroying properties and looting went viral on all social media platforms. In a previous article, the police officers at the White House fired tear gas to disperse them.
Retired boxing legend Floyd Mayweather said he will pay for Floyd’s funeral expenses. NBA legend Michael Jordan also released a statement after his death. He said, “we have had enough.”
Recently, ‘Riverdale’ star Cole Sprouse took to his social media account to reveal that he joined the ‘Black Lives Matter’ demonstration in Santa Monica, California on Sunday afternoon, May 31. He said he was arrested while protesting.
“We were given the option to leave, and were informed that if we did not retreat, we would be arrested… When many did turn to leave, we found another line of police officers blocking our route, at which point, they started zip tying us,” he wrote in an IG post.
The 27-year-old actor said, “Peace, riots, looting, are an absolutely legitimate form of protest.” Read his full post below:
