FLOYD MAYWEATHER – Retired boxing legend Floyd Mayweather’s promotion chief executive said the former boxer would pay for the funeral services of George Floyd.

Last week, Floyd died after a Minneapolis cop knelt on his neck for almost 10 mins despite Floyd’s desperate plea for help. Following his death, protests and riots ran rampant in the United States.

According to an article from ABS-CBN, George Floyd‘s family was reported to have accepted Mayweather’s offer to pay for the service. Moreover, Mayweather Promotions chief executive Leonard Ellerbe noted that Mayweather has done this over the past 20 years.

As per the article, the Funeral would be held on June 9 in Houston. But, before the funeral, the family would have a memorial service in Minneapolis on Thursday. Following this, a memorial service would be held for Floyd in his hometown of North Carolina.

Based on official autopsy reports, Floyd’s cause of death was found to be “neck compression”. As such, the police Derek Chauvin was charged with third degree murder. Additionally, he would also face one count of negligent manslaughter.
