George Floyd Protesters Clash W/ Police Outside White House

GEORGE FLOYD – Police officers fired tear gas outside the White House to disperse George Floyd protesters.

On May 25, 2020, a 46-year-old African-American man named George Floyd died after a white police officer named Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck while he was lying on the ground with handcuffs. The incident happened in Minneapolis Minnesota.

The preliminary autopsy report showed that there was no indication that George died of strangulation. Lots of people including the celebrities decried the restraint technique used by the cop.

Derek Chauvin has been charged with murder. The video footage of George Floyd’s death went viral on the internet. National Basketball Association’s (NBA) legend Michael Jordan released a statement on Sunday regarding George’s death and the nationwide protest.

The former basketball player condemned George’s death and the ‘ingrained racism’ in the United States. “Every one of us needs to be part of the solution, and we must work together to ensure justice for all,” he said.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, police officers and protesters clash outside the White House on Sunday, May 31, as major cities in the US put under curfew. Cops fired tear gas to disperse the protesters.

The clash happened at a park near the office of President Donald Trump. According to the report, police officers used pepper spray, tear gas, and flash-bang grenades to disperse the demonstrators.

A 31-year-old protestor named Muna Abdi said “we have black sons, black brothers, black friends, we don’t want them to die. We are tired of this happening, this generation is not having it, we are tired of oppression.”

Based on the report, Secret Service agents moved President Donald Trump to an underground bunker at the White House on Friday. We can all hope that the US government will soon fix the racism issue in their country.
