Spain Set To Hold 10 Days of Mourning for Victims of COVID-19 Pandemic

10 DAYS OF MOURNING – Spain is set to hold ten days of mourning for the victims of coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic.

The coronavirus or COVID-19 has undeniably changed the world a lot. It has infected more than 200 countries and territories across the globe and many lives were lost because of this disease.

Way back in December 2019, Chinese authorities recorded cases of a “mysterious disease” affecting the people in Wuhan City, Hubei. An outbreak occurred urging the authorities to lock Wuhan for more than two (2) months.

China is visibly recovering from COVID-19 now. However, several other countries across the globe are suffering from outbreaks of this coronavirus.

Spain is one of the countries with confirmed cases of COVID-19. Based on a global tally of Worldometer, it has recorded 283,339 cases of the disease as of this writing.

Out of the said total, 27,117 patients have died while 196,968 have recovered from the said disease. The fight against the disease is not yet over.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Spain will hold 10 days of mourning for the victims of COVID-19. The said move was approved at the Cabinet Meeting held on Tuesday.

The 10 days of mourning in Spain for the COVID-19 victims will begin on Wednesday. Based on the report, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that it is the longest days of mourning held in the country.

“We will all express our sorrow and pay homage to those who have died,” the Spanish Prime Minister said.

All the flags in public hearings will be on half-mast amid the days of mourning for the coronavirus victims. Aside from it, a ceremony presided by King Felipe IV will also be held.
