Pasig City Lifts Liquor ban But Drinking on Public Places are Still Prohibited

The local government of Pasig City lifts the liquor ban but with some limitations, mass gathering and drinking in public are still not allowed.

In a Twitter post of Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, he declares that the people of Pasig are now allowed to sell and consume liquor and other alcoholic drinks at the ease of community quarantine.

However, social gatherings and drinking liquor in public places are still now allowed as part of quarantine protocols and coronavirus precautions. He stressed that people are allowed to drink, but only inside their house.

“We are lifting because businesses and workers are also affected by the ban,” he said in a tweet.

“Kung inom na inom na po kayo, sa loob na lang muna ng bahay at ‘wag imbitahin ang buong barangay,” he added.

Some cities in Metro Manila and other part of the country have also lifted the liquor ban, which the government have implemented as is the main reason why many Filipinos defy the quarantine protocol.

Filipinos violates the quarantine protocols such as stay at home, curfew hours and disobedience to persons in authority. They commit these violations, especially when they are drunk.
