Tito Sotto abstained from voting on Senate Resolution 395
Senate President Tito Sotto received bashing after he abstained from voting on the Senate Resolution 395 asking the National Telecommunications Commission to reconsider the cease and desist order against ABS-CBN.

However, several netizens attacked the Senate President when a report from TV Patrol revealed that he abstained from voting from the Senate Resolution 395.
When the order from the NTC was issued and the Kapamilya network went off the air, Sotto shared this post: “ABS Franchise, bring it to the Senate, we will approve it!”.
The other 12 voted for the resolution asking the NTC to reconsider its cease and desist order against the TV giant that signed off on May 5.
Because of Sotto’s decision regarding the said resolution, several netizens bashed him. Here are some of the comments on Twitter.

Meanwhile, in a previous report, 13 Senators filed a bill to grant a provisional franchise to ABS-CBN on May 11 while the Congress is given the time to deliberate regarding this matter.
The franchise of the Kapamilya network expired on May 4 and a day after that, NTC issued the cease and desist order. Later that day, ABS-CBN complied but filed a petition to the Supreme Court against the order from NTC.
The petition has been raffled off to justice in charge on Monday, however, the result was not released by the SC.
