CDC – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the daily wiping down of high-touch surfaces like phones, keyboards, etc.
One of the questions asked in this COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic is if the virus can survive on our phones.
The answer is yes as confirmed by a scientific test, which states that the virus can live on plastic or stainless steel for two to three days, according to a report from Inquirer.
Hence, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the public to wipe down high-touch surfaces such as phones, keyboards, and tablet computers daily.
In order to do so. the devices must be turned off and unplugged. Technology firms also urged us to not directly spray the device nor place it into cleaning solutions.
The device must be cleansed using disinfectant wipes or anything with 70% alcohol. AT&T also recommends wringing the wipes before cleaning the device.
As per the report, using paper towels also work as long as it is sprayed with disinfectant.
Internet giant Google also recommends dipping a cloth with soap and water in order to clean the device.
