DOH Update on COVID-19 Cases in the Philippines

DOH – The Department of Health released an update about coronavirus or COVID-19 in the Philippines, May 7.

A lot of countries are suffering now over the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, more than 200 nations got confirmed cases of COVID-19 which has already infected over 3.8 million people across the globe.

More than 265,000 died because of coronavirus. This disease was first recorded in China last December 2019. When January 2020 came, several nations started to record their first cases of the disease.

COVID-19 bear flu-like symptoms. An infected person may experience cough, fever, and breathing difficulties. However, the person may also be asymptomatic.

DOH COVID Update

Philippines is one of the countries with confirmed cases of coronavirus. Currently, several provinces and cities are under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) as a move to prevent the spread of the disease.

Other areas considered as low and medium risk areas are now under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Everyone is advised to continue wearing mask when they are out and to exhibit social distancing.

Daily, the Department of Health reports the new cases, deaths, and recoveries from COVID-19. For today, May 7, the DOH confirmed 339 new cases of the disease.

The total coronavirus cases confirmed in PH is now at 10,343. According to the health department, out of the total number, 685 died due to COVID-19 while 1,618 patients have recovered from the disease.
