BREAKING: DOH Releases PH COVID-19 Update Today (May 2, 2020)

Philippines’ COVID-19 update today, May 2, 2020, from DOH.

PHILIPPINES – The Department of Health (DOH) released the COVID-19 update today in the Philippines, May 2, 2020, Saturday.

The first COVID-19 case was recorded in Wuhan and since then, the transmission went so fast that in just a couple of months later, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared this as pandemic. It has infected already more than 3.34 million globally with over 1 million recoveries and over 239,000 deaths.

With the alarming increase of the pandemic in the world and in the country, President Duterte ordered imposition of enhanced community quarantine in Luzon and other areas at high risk of the spread of the virus and general ones to those with moderate or low risk.

And now, from yesterdays update from the Department of Health (DOH) regarding the confirmed cases in the country, from 8,772 cases, it has now soar to 8,928 which means there are 156 additional cases.

24 and 40 persons were added to the numbers of deaths and recoveries, respectively. With this, the total numbers are as of May 2 are the following according to the health department,:

  • CONFIRMED CASES – 8,928
  • DEATHS – 603
  • RECOVERIES – 1,124
