Family Lives in Jeepney After Being Evicted from Rented House

QUEZON CITY – poor family calls out help as they now living in jeepney after they were evicted from the house where they formerly living.

In a report of ABS-CBN News, they were evicted from the house they rented in Baseco, Manila when the lockdown began because they could not pay the rent right away. According to Julius, the father, for about half a month living in a jeep on Amoranto Ave. the Coquia family in Quezon City.

Julius’s family is now living in the jeepney they owned, with their six children, including the 2-year-old kid. According to Julius, he had a brother in Baseco but had no place in their house for them.

Julius said that in the morning they only drink coffee and eat biscuits for their breakfast. Erlin’s family also admitted that she did not always give their children milk because of their situation.

Based on the report, Erlin even walked back to Baseco four times a day to seek help from the government’s social amelioration program. Unfortunately, they do not have their names there so they rely on whatever assistance of the passing vehicles bring to them.

The couple hopes that some good people will provide help now that they only depend on donations. In addition to food, they also need diapers, milk, and vitamins as they are now aware of the danger to stay on the road.
