Mocha Uson Gathers OFWs, Is This Violation Of Mass Gathering Protocol?

Did Mocha Uson violated ECQ’s protocol about mass gathering?

MOCHA USON – OWWA Deputy Administrator Mocha Uson gathered a crowd of repatriated OFWs amid the strict ECQ due to COVID-19.

One of the strict rules during the enhanced community quarantine due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 is the prohibition of any types of mass gathering and observing social distancing. This is a must for everyone to do in order to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

However, just recently, the appointed Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) deputy administrator Mocha Uson was spotted gathering a large number of Overseas Filipino Worker (OFWs) repatriated from different countries. It was a huge crowd that netizens insisted that what she did was a clear violation of ECQ’s mass gathering prohibition.

Accordingly, she must face penalty for breaking this rule and her position must not matter for she has put the lives of these people at risk by gathering them altogether. One netizen said, “In flagrant violation of ECQ, OWWA deputy administrator Mocha Uson gathered ad spoke before scores of repatriated OFWs on April 25 in Lian, Batangas.”

Mocha, on her part, justified what she has done and ask for understanding about it. As per her statement, OWWA went there bringing with them hygiene kits for the OFWs as they are bound to do their 14-day quarantine.

They also reminded them about the rules and regulations of ECQ such as social distancing, for them not to go outside their quarantine facility, and to follow quarantine protocols. Aside from that, one of their intentions in going there to check the state and welfare of the people just like how it’s done to the other facilities.
