Iisang Dagat Cheers PH-China Team-Up Amid Coronavirus Crisis
IISANG DAGAT – Chinese embassy released a song that displays the Philippines and China’s partnership amid the 2019 novel coronavirus crisis.
In a televised address on March 12, Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said China’s President Xi Jinping offered help amid the 2019 novel coronavirus pandemic. He said he received a letter from the Chinese government saying they are “willing to help” and all he has to do is ask.
The 75-year-old chief executive said he will ask for help if the situation gets worsen. “Ako, sa tingin ko, maybe there will be a time, if things deteriorate that I have to call on China to help. He said they have managed the crisis very well in his country and he is very much willing to help kung kailangan,” he said.
In a previous article, China allegedly created new facilities in the West Philippine Sea amid the COVID-19 pandemic. They did not withdraw its claims despite the ruling of the Arbitral Tribunal in 2016.
On Friday, April 24, the Chinese Embassy Manila released a song titled “Iisang Dagat” on their Facebook Page. The song that’s composed by the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian displays the “mutual support” between China and the Philippines amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pinay “Jukebox Queen” Imelda Papin sang parts of the song, along with Filipino-Chinese singer Jhonvid Bangayan, Chinese diplomat Xia Wenxinm and Chinese actor Yubin.
“Iisang Dagat” music video also featured statements of Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teordoro L. Locsin Jr., Department of Health (DOH) chief Francisco Duque III, President Duterte and other Pinoy government officials.
