Madagascar President Launches Local Cure For COVID-19
MADAGASCAR PRESIDENT – President Andry Rajoelina launches a local herbal cure that allegedly destroys COVID-19.
While the entire world is racing to find a cure for COVID-19, Madagascar may had already won. Their President launched a “beverage” made from local herbs that was “tested” to be effective against the coronavirus.
According to an article from Inquirer, Rajoelina claimed that two people had already been cured by the treatment. Furthermore, he claimed that the effects of the remedy would give results in just a week.
During a conference he held at the Malagasy Institute of Applied Research (IMRA), he stated:
I will be the first to drink this today, in front of you, to show you that this product cures and does not kill.
As per the article, the drink was dubbed as “COVID-Organics”. Moreover, it was made from artemisia, a plant used in malaria treatment as well as other indigenous herbs.
However, the safety and effectiveness of the concoction had yet to be assessed internationally. Additionally, data from the trials have yet to be published for peer review.
As such, mainstream scientist had immediately warned against the potential risks of the untested herbal “remedy”. But, Rajoelina brushed off these criticisms and said the brew would “protect the Malagasy people”.
Along with this, Rajoelina said that the brew would be offered to school children in a bid to protect them against the virus. Also, he emphasized that it was his duty to protect his people.
However, the US Centers for Disease Conrol and Prevention stated:
There is no scientific evidence that any of these alternative remedies can prevent or cure the illness caused by COVID-19. In fact, some of them may not be safe to consume
