Holy Week Songs To Listen To From Some Time For Self-Reflection

Here are some worship songs for the Holy Week you should listen to.

HOLY WEEK SONGS – This is a time to reflect, and here’s a list of songs we recommend for some time of self-reflection.

This is a Christian tradition that commemorates the final days of Jesus Christ’s life, from the moment he was crucified to the time he resurrected. This sacred time is a time to reflect on Jesus’ death and resurrection, and it is upon us.

Holy Week Songs

Here’s a quick breakdown of each day:

  • Palm Sunday – Jesus entered Jerusalem, and just like in the Bible, people waved their palm branches for this event.
  • Holy Monday – Jesus cleared the temple. He arrived there with corruption in sight. He overturned the tables and declared, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves” (Luke 19:46).
  • Holy Tuesday – Jesus went to the Mount of Olives with His disciples. This was the same day when Judas Iscariot negotiated with Sanhedrin.
  • Spy Wednesday – This day was associated with the betrayal of Judas to Jesus.
  • Maundy Thursday – The day that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with His disciples and the institution of the Eucharist (Holy Communion).
  • Good Friday – The day of the trial, crucifixion, death, and burial of Jesus. According to the Scripture, Judas was overwhelmed with remorse and hanged himself early Friday morning. Jesus endured the shame of false accusations, condemnation, mockery, beatings, and abandonment.
  • Black Saturday – Jesus was laid in the tomb. This is a quiet day for waiting and reflection. Saturday’s events are recorded in Matthew 27:62-66, Mark 16:1, Luke 23:56, and John 19:40.
  • Easter Sunday – This day celebrates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

During this downtime, there’s a lot that can be done, and one of these is listening to songs that will remind us of God’s love, Jesus’ sacrifice, and our faith.
