China may be withholding COVID-19 data – Trump adviser
Trump Adviser – Peter Navarro, the White House adviser, stated that China may be withholding data about the new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
On Monday, Navarro charged this against the communist country for allegedly aiming to win the commercial race in creating the vaccine. Based on the report from ABS-CBN, the United States of America, one of the countries which is greatly affected by the virus, has been calling out to China to share early data about the virus outbreak.
Reports have been stating that the virus was first detected in Wuhan, China. “One of the reasons that they may not have let us in and given us the data on this virus early, is they’re racing to get a vaccine and they think this is just a competitive business race, it’s a business proposition so that they can sell the vaccines to the world,” the White House adviser said in an interview.
However, the Trump adviser is strong in his conviction that they will beat China in this race because of the US President’s leadership. “We’re going to beat them because HHS (Health and Human Services of U.S.A.) has already got a five-company horse race,” he added.
President Donald Trump named Navarro as in-charge of working on the supply-line issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. The presidential adviser is known to be an outspoken critic of China.
Based on the report, the latest coronavirus tally showed that there are already 760,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States of America while there are 41,100 deaths recorded. Half of the number of confirmed cases came from New York.
