Pizza delivery guy receives support for his charitable endeavor
Raymond Papellero, the pizza delivery guy who caught the attention of the online community because he is saving his tip to buy bread for homeless people.
Many netizens commended Papellero for what he is doing amid the enhanced community quarantine with the fact that he does not earn that much. It was later on found out that despite having an unemployed pregnant wife, he still chooses to help others.
Because of this, he received a P10,000 reward, aside from the praises that he gets online. This act of kindness amid the crisis also inspired other people to extend help. Based on the article from One News, Papellero also received support from other people.
Raina Ominga, the bakery owner who uploaded the viral photo of the pizza delivery guy shared that she was flooded with messages after she shared the post on Facebook. With patience and eagerness to be of help, Ominga answered the messages for three days.
“Sinagot ko silang lahat (three) days straight. Nung nag-viral po ‘yan nung Sunday, 4 a.m. na ako ng Monday nakatulog kaka-reply. Hahaha!” she enthused. For her, this way she can promote to people being a blessing to others and help spread love and hope.
She said several netizens who messaged her asking how to help Papellero to sustain his charitable endeavor. Ominga said that there were several people who have been donating. “Para ‘di na po niya daw gastusin mga tips niya at maiuwi na lang niya,” she shared.
The bakery owner also shared that they did expect the overwhelming response from the online community when she decided to upload the photo of Papellero, based on the article.
