Class Suspension Until December? What Can You Say About This?

An analyst suggests class suspension until December will help contain the spread of Coronavirus.

CLASS SUSPENSION – The suspension of classes to last until December will accordingly be a great help to prevent the spread of the virus.

The class suspension has been implemented mid of March, the time when the coronavirus-related figure started growing up quickly. The suspension is one preventive measure to contain the spread of the virus as children and older people are among the most vulnerable especially those people with underlying medical conditions.

Following that, enhanced community quarantine was declared which also forcefully suspended work to which some companies offered work from home type of job to their employees. Meanwhile, some employers have given financial assistance to their workers as WFH is not applicable to their type of work.

And now, Professor Mahar Lagmay of the UP Resilience Institute, an education analyst, has suggested that it is best if classes will be suspended until the last month of the year which is December. This will lessen interaction between students which will ultimately reduce chances the spread of coronavirus.

This will accordingly slow down the growth of virus transmission. This follows over a study which shows that the greatest physical interaction is among the 0-19 age group and in this age group, mostly are students.

“Kapag walang klase hanggang December ay malaki po ang mababawas natin sa transmission ng COVID-19… Ito po ay isa sa mga rekomendasyon na binigay doon sa COVID-19,” says Lagmay during Palace virtual press briefing as per ABS-CBN report.
