Tricycle Driver Use COVID-19 Cash Aid For BBQ Business
TRICYCLE DRIVER USE CASH AID – The government gave cash aids to residents to help them cope with the effects of COVID-19.
Admittedly, some residents receive more than others. Meanwhile, some say that the cash aid given was not enough to last them a week. However, a tricycle driver from Barangay Culiat, Quezon City innovated.
Instead of spending it on groceries and supplies to get them by, tricycle driver Samad Maunla used the P2K cash aid he received as capital for a barbecue business.
According to a report from ABS-CBN, Maulana now has a daily average income of P1,200. In these times of crisis, one of the best ways to get by is to adapt and innovate with what you have.
However, residents were concerned that the Local Government Units might shut down his stall. With the Enhanced Community Quarantine in place, vendors are not allowed in the side walk.
But, there may be an exception if he’s conducting business right around his property. As such, others say that LGUs should allow him to operate if social distancing was observed.
Furthermore, Maunla’s barbecue stall idea is great as it supplies residents of his area with a product everybody misses.
Currently, the Philippines is still struggling to contain the effects of COVID-19. In lieu of this, the President warned that a full lockdown may be imposed if there are more violators of theq quarantine protocols.
