Pres. Bongbong Marcos Gives Speech to 600 New Officials of AFP

BONGBONG MARCOS -The Philippine President reiterated his promise to make the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) world-class.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines plays a very huge role in ensuring the safety of the country and the people. Thus, in his recent speech to the new officials of the AFP, Marcos Jr. talked about the ways on how the government wants to boost the armed forces.

Pres. Marcos has made several promises to the Filipino citizenry as well as vows that are specific to a group of people. Marcos Jr. is most popular for his promise P20 per kilo rice promise which was recently recalled by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte amid their rift.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos reiterated his vow to the officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines that the government will make the AFP world-class. Based on a report on ABS-CBN, he gave a speech before the 600 new officials of the AFP.

Six hundred new AFP officials finished the officers’ candidate course in the Philippine army, navy, aand air force. Their graduation ceremony was held at Camp Aguinaldo and it was also graced by Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gibo Teodoro.

According to Marcos Jr., the transformation will start in investing in the officials and making sure of the connection between tradition and innovation. Based on the report, he stressed that the government will modernize the equipment of the AFP in its pursuit to make it world-class.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also said that the national government will improve the training programs to boost the talents and capabilities of the officials. The pursuit to make the AFP world class is a target amid the increasing national security concern in the Philippines.

“We will modernize your equipment, enhance your training program, ensure that you are not just equipped to face challenges not just today but also of the future,” the President said.

On the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the AFP recently assured Vice Pres. Sara Duterte that her security will not be compromised. The assurance of the AFP to the Vice President came after she announced that the armed forces may reduce her security and she made a request to the AFP.

According to Duterte, she does not feel secured now so she requested the AFP that she will not accept replacements. She stressed that the AFP can remove some or her entire security detail but she will not accept her security to be replaced.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also expressed the possibility of hiring a private security in case the AFP will pull out all her security detail. She stressed that it will be arranged by her husband, Attorney Manases Carpio, if it happens and money should not be an issue.
