77-Year-Old Male Stroke Victim Who Never Left Home in Baguio City Tests Positive for New Coronavirus

A male stroke victim who never left his home in Baguio City since quarantine began has tested positive for coronavirus disease.

On Wednesday (April 15, 2020), a Baguio resident tested positive for the new coronavirus although he never left home since the government placed the entire Luzon on enhanced community quarantine.

However, the 77-year-old man frequently receives visitors in his house including his nephew who was in Baguio for a short vacation from Thailand. The old man becomes one of the two new COVID-19 cases in the city after a 46-year-old lady tests positive last April 10, 2020.

The stroke victim was confined at the Baguio General Hospital while its wife in currently under monitoring after showing symptoms of coughs a few weeks ago. As of this writing, Baguio City has a total coronavirus case of 17.

Meanwhile, Mayor Benjie Magalong has ordered his personnel to disinfect Maria Basa Street in Barangay Pacdal and Giant Sequoia Street in Woodsville, Camp 7. Magalong also declared a lockdown along the areas of Barangays Pacdal and Barangay T. Alonzo wherein the wife of new COVID-19 victim had been.

12 people in Baguio City have already recovered from the disease while one of the 17 patients has already passed away.
