Disney animator Ann Sullivan dies of coronavirus.
ANN SULLIVAN – The Disney animator of classic “The Little Mermaid”, Ann Sullivan, dies at the age of 91 years old due to coronavirus disease.
The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Hercules, Tarzan, Lilo and Stitch, and Home on the Range animator are all a part of our childhood and the one who animated these is Ann Sullivan. However, due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), she died at the age of 91.
She reached her end at the Motion Picture and Television Fund (MPTF) nursing facility in Woodland Hills, California, and she was the third person who have died in the said facility due to the deadly virus. MPTF president and CEO Bob Beitcher told the Deadline that this is one of the bad days losing such remarkable artist.
In a tribute, Beitcher said:
“But all she ever wanted to do was work at the Walt Disney Studios, and she did. Ann rejoined the animation department in time to paint and ink on such Disney classics as The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Lilo and Stitch. Stunningly, late in her career, she made the switch to computerized animated production at Disney until her retirement in the early 2000s.”
Meanwhile, in a previous article, the health authorities in the United States have recorded 2,300 deaths in just 24 hours. In the Philippines, as per April 14 update from the Department of Health, there are already 5,223 total confirmed cases, 335 deaths, and 295 recoveries.
