An asthmatic old man faces death at home after being rejected by 6 hospitals.
ASTHMATIC OLD MAN – The asthmatic old man’s kin said that six (6) hospitals have rejected him prior his death at his own home.
In the recent speech of President Rodrigo Duterte, he cited one reported incident where a 65-year-old asthmatic man suffering from difficulty in breathing was deprived of medical attention. The old man was rejected by six (6) hospitals because they accordingly have no more space for such cases.
According to the president, the patient was from Cabanatuan City and what he finds unrightful in the incident is the refusal of the six hospitals to respond at such helpless case. He will ask the Justice Department to prosecute such especially if it is a government hospital.
He said, “Paano ‘yung mga Pilipino na ganoon? Kaya lahat na magkasakit, heart attack, appendicitis, pumutok ang kung anong puputok diyan, pumutok ‘yung utak, especially government hospital, my order is: must accept admission. You fail on that, I will relieve all of you sa hospital and you can consider yourself suspended because the written order will follow.”
Based on a report from GMA, the old man faced his death at his house after 6 hospitals refused to admit him. Girlie Cabling-Cagaoan, the old man’s daughter, said he has asthma and at around 11 P.M., they were searching for hospitals but to no avail. His father then decided to just go home.
She also recalled that one of the nurses from the hospitals they went to stated that her father was COVID-19 positive, declaring such without even undergoing any tests. The man who died was buried on Tuesday morning.
