12 APOSTLES STORY – Of the 12 apostles of Christ, this is how Peter, Andrew, and Matthew died as they went on with their lives after He died.

In this time of Holy Week, let us all remember that the foundation of the church and whose been with Jesus Christ in his journey to let the people learn the word of God, are his followers or we can call them His apostles. Originally, they are 12 and all of them have had attached relations to Jesus.

Here’s how Peter, Andrew, and Matthew died:

PETER
He is among the famous disciple of Jesus Christ to the point that he ended up of the same fate as Him. He was also crucified, however, in an upside down cross. It was Emperor Nero who got him killed. The reason why it was on an upside down cross is because he thought of not being worthy to die the same way Jesus did.

ANDREW
He is Peter’s brother and suffered similar way to face his death. He was crucified in the Greek City of Patras and got hung on an X-shape object. And for all the same reason, he opted to be that way for he thought of not deserving to die in the way how Jesus died.

MATTHEW
According to the New Testament, he died naturally. However, there are conflicting events about what happened to him. According to the Overview Bible, he was martyred and the early church fathers said that he was either burned, stoned, stabbed, or beheaded. In the famous Book of Martyrs, it stated there, “The scene of his labors was Parthia, and Ethiopia, in which latter country he suffered martyrdom, being slain with a halberd in the city of Nadabah, A.D. 60.”

  • James
  • John
  • Andrew
  • Bartholomew or Nathanael
  • James, the Lesser or Younger
  • Judas
  • Jude or Thaddeus
  • Matthew or Levi
  • Philip
  • Simon the Zealot
  • Thomas
