He is among the famous disciple of Jesus Christ to the point that he ended up of the same fate as Him. He was also crucified, however, in an upside down cross. It was Emperor Nero who got him killed. The reason why it was on an upside down cross is because he thought of not being worthy to die the same way Jesus did.
He is Peter’s brother and suffered similar way to face his death. He was crucified in the Greek City of Patras and got hung on an X-shape object. And for all the same reason, he opted to be that way for he thought of not deserving to die in the way how Jesus died.
According to the New Testament, he died naturally. However, there are conflicting events about what happened to him. According to the Overview Bible, he was martyred and the early church fathers said that he was either burned, stoned, stabbed, or beheaded. In the famous Book of Martyrs, it stated there, “The scene of his labors was Parthia, and Ethiopia, in which latter country he suffered martyrdom, being slain with a halberd in the city of Nadabah, A.D. 60.”
