12 Apostles Story: How Apostles James, Jude, and Matthias Died

How James, Jude, and Matthias from the 12 apostles story have died?

12 APOSTLES STORY – This is the story of James, Jude, and Matthias, 3 of the 12 apostles, according to the Bible, of Jesus Christ.

The 12 disciples are the 12 chosen men of Jesus Christ of whom he shared everything with and have witnessed His miracles. But what happened to them after Jesus Christ ascended into heaven?

Here’s how James, Jude, and Matthias died:

JAMES SON OF ALPHAEUS and SAINT JAMES
Accordingly, he was pushed at the temple where he was preaching, beaten, and stoned to death. However, there were claims that he reached Egypt to preach where he was crucified in the city of Ostrakine.
Saint James, the brother of John, one of the deaths recorded in the Bible, was killed with a sword.

JUDE
There were write ups that told he met his death in Syria during a missionary journey with Simon. But according to The Golden Legend, they have commanded demons to come out. It indicated there, “And when the bishops saw this, they ran upon the apostles and hewed them to death anon. And that same hour, which was right fair weather, came so great thunder and lightning that the temple was smitten in three, and the two enchanters were turned into coals by the stroke of thunder.”

MATTHIAS
He is not among the original members for he replaced Judas Iscariot who hung himself after doing the betrayal to Jesus Christ. Being an obscure personality then, there were claims that he died when he was stoned in Aethiopia (Georgia), another stated the same thing but by Jews of Jerusalem, and another told he died of old age in Jerusalem.

The 12 apostles of Jesus Christ are:

  • Peter
  • James
  • John
  • Andrew
  • Bartholomew or Nathanael
  • James, the Lesser or Younger
  • Judas
  • Jude or Thaddeus
