Aklan government units set a curfew from 8 AM to 5 AM to urge their residents to remain indoors. This is among the preventive measures against Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to Panay News, the Kalibo municipal station arrested at about 70 violators from March 18 to 29.

The Malay police, on the other hand, nabbed 21 violators roaming the streets of the town, as well as in Boracay Island.

The police stations already charged them for resistance and disobedience, based on the report.

Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Pablito, chief of Malay police, advised the public to cooperate in preventing the threat of the virus.

Aklan province is home to about 600,000 residents. It has closed its borders, restricting anyone from entering or leaving the province when there are three positive cases on the province as of March 27.
