DREW ARELLANO – Kapuso artist Drew Arellano has this post about coronavirus online which deemed insensitive by many netizens.
With the current situation of the country and the world right now, facing a giant health crisis, people could not help but get sensitive over some topics as many lives have been greatly affected by the pandemic. It was first discovered in Wuhan, China until it gradually spread to different parts of the world and called as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“We are the virus and covid’s the cure really.” – This is what Kapuso artist Drew Arellano said in his post which collected many reactions as his post was deemed as insensitive. In the Philippines, people are struggling and torn between staying at home to be safe or risk health to earn to have something to eat for themselves and for their family.
He apologized in the end after receiving those reactions. Check out some comments below:
This analogy came to many people’s thoughts as well and not just to the actor as the environment seemingly had a reboot after people stayed in their homes and factories have been closed. The Earth is healing as several parts of the world undergo lockdown.
And what brought about by the lockdown are empty streets, lesser cars, and lesser establishments and factories – to which all of these contribute to pollution greatly. Amid the coronavirus lockdown, based on a previous report, significant recoveries to canals of Italy have been discovered.
The water flowing have become clearer, dolphins started to appear, swans returned, a family of otters spotted in a tourist spot in Singapore, a group of 14 elephants broke into a village in Yunan province in search for food, and among other incidents. A drastic drop of air pollution over parts of China has also been reported.

Naiintindihan ko kung ano ibig sabihin ni drew at un ang masakit na katotohan, kung ang pananaw bilang tao lang na naninirahan sa mundo masakit yun siguro.

Na ang tao ay parang virus na patuloy na sinisira ang kalikasan at ang mundo…..At hindi doon natatapos dahil patuloy lang ang pagdami ng tao, pero hindi naman lumalaki ang mundo….at tinatamasa natin ang hagupit ng kalikasan….at araw araw lang nating patuloy na sinisira ito.
