Karen Davila Criticized by OFW in Italy For Claiming Italian Government is Giving Free Food to Citizens
The Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Italy criticized Karen Davila for claiming that the Italian government is giving free food.
Previously, the ABS-CBN journalist Karen Davila mentioned in her report that the Italian Government is giving vouchers to its citizens for free foods amid the rapid spread of the coronavirus disease.
Davila discussed the food security in other countries affected by the coronavirus and she also mentioned Italy on national television while covering the enhanced community quarantine over the entire Luzon.
“Sa italy ay binibigyan ng mga vouchers ang mga tao para makapunta sa supermarket at makakuha ng pagkain ng libre,” Davila said.
The Filipino migrant workers in Italy criticized the journalist and informed her that there are no food stamps or free foods that were being given to the citizens.
However, Karen Davila clarified that the vouches are still only a proposal but the social media users lambasted the journalist again stating that it was not what she said on the national television.

The social media users expressed their reactions to the post:
“Be prepared albit don’t panic. Si Karen D. Basta makapag report Lang Basta may mema Lang siya. I sometimes don’t believe on her credibility as a journalist/news Anchor. Keep safe sis.
