ABS-CBN suspends live shows and tapings due to community quarantine following growth of coronavirus disease.
CORONAVIRUS DISEASE – ABS-CBN network announces suspension of staging live shows and tapings due to Coronavirus Disease 2019.
In a previous article, as the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines started to rise, television networks announced banning of live studio audience temporarily. This came after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has declared a state of public health emergency.
And now that it have been declared as pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), with 64 confirmed cases now in the country and the corona-related death toll rise to 6, the ABS-CBN network furthered their precautionary measures to contain the virus and announced that live shows and taping will be under suspension as well temporarily. This announcement was made after community quarantine in Metro Manila has been declared.
The suspension will be effective starting March 15 and the official statement from the network further states:
“The company is taking this initiative for the safety and health of our artists, crew, production teams, their families, and the general public. While this measure is in place, ABS-CBN will continue to serve our audiences by bringing back well-loved shows to help provide inspiration, hope, and upliftment.”
Moreover, they assure the public to resume bringing latest news and information. This is through their television and radio newscasts and digital platforms. This will all be happening most especially amid the world and the country facing a major health problem.
