Tom Hanks & Wife Coronavirus Positive, Warner Bros Releases Statement

Warner Bros statement after a member of their Elvis Presley film, Tom Hanks, found coronavirus positive.

TOM HANKS – Warner Bros statement after Tom Hanks, member of their yet untitled Elvis Presley film, tested positive of Coronavirus Disease 2019.

“To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.” – This is what Tom Hanks wrote in his Instagram post after he and his wife tested positive of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Accordingly, prior to their testing, they have felt tired, having colds, suffering body aches, and slight fevers. And with the coronavirus outbreak, they underwent some tests and that’s when they found out they were positive of novel coronavirus.

They are in Australia, accordingly, for pre-production of Baz Luhrmann’s yet untitled Elvis Presley film. This movie is from Warner Bros and is set to be open on Oct. 1, 2021. Hanks’ role is Colonel Tom Parker, the longtime manager of Presley.

With this, here is the full statement of Warner Bros regarding the matter based on Deadline:

“We have been made aware that a company member from our Elvis feature film, which is currently in pre-production in The Gold Coast, Australia, has tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus). 

We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual.  The health and safety of our company members is always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world.

The individual who tested positive for COVID-19 is currently receiving treatment.”

Tom and Rita have been married since 1988 and they have two children. He was won Oscars for the lead roles he played in “Forrest Gump” and “Philadelphia” and nominated this year for his supporting role in “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”.

Meanwhile, Wilson is known for films such as “Jingle All the Way,” “Sleepless in Seattle”, and “Runaway Bride”.
