Senate Resource Person Who Tested Positive For Coronavirus Is Currently Under Critical Condition
SENATE RESOURCE PERSON – A guest who attended in Senate hearing tested positive for coronavirus and is now “critical”.
The Senate building is currently under a lock-down after a guest who attended the hearing tested positive for coronavirus. The temporary closing of the building was confirmed by Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto. Several officials are under quarantine now.
One of those senators who are under self-quarantine now is Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian. He was the one who led the hearing that prompted the attendance of the said resource person who tested positive for coronavirus.
Based on a report on GMA News, Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri revealed that the said Senate resource person is the husband of the coronavirus patient who died – 2nd death case in PH and 1st Filipino who died due to COVID-19.
According to the Majority Leader, the said Senate resource person is currently in “critical condition”. He raised the idea of having all the senators tested for coronavirus as they have been exposed to a number of people.
“I had been warning my colleagues on the conduct of public hearings during these times but obviously some of them did not heed my warning,” Zubiri said based on the report.
The Majority Leader further stressed that coronavirus is “no joke” and must be taken seriously. He also suggested that employees of the Senate shall be allowed to work from home.
