COVID-19 Forces Italy To Open Only Essential Stores, Nation Now Paralyzed
ITALY NOW PARALYZED – Outside of China, Italy had been the country hit hardest by COVID-19.
Recently, Italy’s Prime Minister placed the entire nation under lockdown. Following this, the Prime Minister announced a new form of lockdown within the country.
According to a report from “la Repubblica”, all commercial activities besides pharmacies and grocery stores are now closed. As such, the world’s 8th biggest economy had been officially paralyzed.
All shops will be closed except those for basic necessities, such as pharmacies and food
This meant that non-essential businesses such as beauty salons and canteen services would be closed. Meanwhile, industries would remain open provided they guarantee initiatives to avoid exposure to the virus.
However, banking, insurance, postal services, and transport are still guaranteed. As per the report, the Prime Minister stated that the measures are marked by a difficult balance in order to keep the economy somewhat afloat.
If the numbers continue to grow, which is by no means unlikely – it does not mean that we will have to hurry to launch new measures. We will not have to make a blind run towards the abyss.
