Woman from Singapore Showing Symptoms of nCoV Under Strict Monitoring in Bacolod Now

WOMAN FROM SINGAPORE – A woman from abroad is now being monitored in Bacolod City after showing nCoV signs, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran confirmed.

Currently, the Philippines is faced with a huge challenge – the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus. There is an upward momentum on the number of total confirmed cases in the country now.

As of this writing, March 11, 2020, the confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines is at 33. Out of the 30 patients who are currently being treated now, two (2) of them are in critical condition.

The Department of Health (DOH) disclosed that the two (2) patients are aging 60 years old and above and are currently intubated. The health department has previously confirmed a case of local transmission in the country.

Amid the increasing cases of COVID-19, local governments are also on tight guards and monitoring of their areas. Recently, Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, the chairman of the task force against COVID-19 in the city, gave an update.

Based on a report on TV Patrol Negros, Vice Mayor Familiaran revealed that a woman from Singapore is currently under strict monitoring in Bacolod. She showed signs of nCoV three (3) days after arriving from abroad.

According to the Vice Mayor, the woman experienced sore throat, fever, and coughing. Her swab test was already sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa.

Based on the report, there are currently 19 people under monitoring in Bacolod for possible coronavirus infection. The four (4) latest PUMs are from Hong Kong, Korea, China, and Macau.

The result of the swab test of the woman is awaited. More updates may be posted soon.
