Manila To Implement Class Suspension on March 9-15 Over Coronavirus
CLASS SUSPENSION – Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announced the suspension of classes in Manila from March 9 to March 15 amid coronavirus fears.
Currently, there are several confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines. The total number of cases has reached ten (10) after four (4) people tested positive for the disease.
This morning, March 9, 2020, several local government units (LGUs) including Quezon City, Marikina, and Pasig confirmed that there are cases of coronavirus in their cities. They’re coordinating with the Department of Health (DOH) regarding the matter.
Amid the increasing cases of coronavirus in the Philippines, the country is now under a public health emergency as approved by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The health department is seeking the cooperation of the people traced by the surveillance teams.
In line with the coronavirus fears, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announced a class suspension in the city from March 9, 2020 to March 15, 2020. Based on the report in Inquirer, the said suspension of classes cover all levels in both public and private schools in the capital city.
Citing the DOH tracker, 23 of the 41 patients under investigations (PUIs) are reportedly in Metro Manila. They are admitted to various hospitals. More updates may be posted soon.
