NOONTIME SHOW – Noontime show temporarily stop accepting live studio audience due to coronavirus threat.

On Monday, March 9, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has declared a state of public health emergency due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) threat. The Department of Health (DOH) reported that the country now has 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Seven patients are now confined, 2 of them have recovered and 1 had died.

“The outbreak of COVID-19 constitutes an emergency that threatens national security which requires a whole-of-government response… capacitate government agencies and LGUs to immediately act to prevent loss of life,” the president said in Proclamation No. 922.

Due to the novel coronavirus threat in the country, the fans of the Kapuso noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga’ will no longer be allowed to enter the studio. The management released a statement on their Instagram account on Monday, March 9.

The management of the longest-running noontime variety show in the Philippines announced that they decided to temporarily stop accepting live studio audience due to the outbreak.

“(This is) to help prevent the spread of the virus and to ensure the health and safety of its talent, staff, crew, and members of its audience,” it posted.

The management of Eat Bulaga explained that the decision has been made “after extensive and careful consideration in order to cooperate with government efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.” They assured their fans that they will continue to bring entertainment.

“Araw-araw pa rin po kaming maghahatid ng isang libo’t isang tuwa sa inyong mga tahanan. Ingat po tayong lahat, Dabarkads!”

Eat Bulaga is the first tv program to announce the postponement of their live studio audience following the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
