Año Order PNP, Barangay Officials to Arrest Individuals Trying to Destroy Trains

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año issued an order to PNP and Barangay officials to arrest individuals involved in damaging PNR Trains.

Recently, several throwing-incidents recorded within this year 2020 which damaged the front glass windshield of the refurbished Rotem train unit of the Philippine National Railways (PNR).

Meanwhile, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año has ordered the arrest of individuals who inflict damage on Philippine National Railway Trains. Año ordered Philippine National Police and Barangay officials regarding to the incidents of throwing rocks at the trains, Based on the report of Eagle News.

Año issued an order to arrest individuals involved and who will be caught throwing and destroying the new trains. He said the incidents were not isolated and were becoming common in Metro Manila.

“There are reports that these stone-throwers are young people who are doing it for sheer fun. May mga report naman na ito ay mga residente din ng komunidad. We will arrest whoever will be behind this stupid act,” he said.

Año pushed barangay officials to lead in efforts to protect the trains since they are closer to the community. He also encouraged citizens to report those who destroy the trains.
