DOH Reveals 4 New Coronavirus Cases Recorded in the Philippines
CORONAVIRUS CASES IN THE PHILIPPINES – The Department of Health (DOH) revealed that four (4) new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country.
Currently, the Philippines has coronavirus patients again. It was last week when the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that two (2) people tested positive for the disease that first emerged in China.
The said coronavirus patients are Filipinos. One is a man who has a travel history to Japan while the other is a Filipino man who has no travel history. It was confirmed by the DOH that the latter is a case of local transmission.
The wife of the 5th confirmed case of coronavirus in the Philippines also tested positive for the disease. Both of them are treated and isolated at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City.
Recently, another update about the coronavirus cases in the Philippines crossed the surface. Based on a report on CNN, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed four (4) new cases bringing the total to 10.
The patients were reportedly tested on Saturday and the results were released Sunday which all of them tested positive. According to the report, the following are the details about the patients:
- a 38-year-old Taiwanese man who had no travel history abroad but had contact with a Taiwanese man who visited PH and, later on, tested positive for COVID-19 upon his return to his home country
- a 57-year-old Pinoy who has no travel history abroad but allegedly had contact with a person who tested positive for the disease
- a 32-year-old Pinoy who has visited Japan
- an 86-year-old American man who has visited US and South Korea
Based on the report, the DOH said that the patients behind these new coronavirus cases in the Philippines are admitted in private hospitals. The health department refused to disclosed the details about the hospitals.
Currently, the tracing of the people the coronavirus patients had a contact with is ongoing. The health department is seeking for cooperation.
