17 Italian Tourists Quarantined in India After Testing Positive for Coronavirus

CORONAVIRUS – Amid its spread in Italy, a group of 17 Italian tourists in India tested positive for the disease.

Since January 2020, one of the biggest topics widely-talked on the international level is the novel coronavirus. It was officially named as COVID-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO).

It was in late December 2019 when the said disease was first recorded in Wuhan City, China. The said city is now under a lock-down after the disease infected more than 70,000 people in mainland China.

Globally, more than 2,000 people died of COVID-19. Several other countries also have confirmed infection cases.

Currently, three (3) countries are on the global watch following the continuous increase in their coronavirus infection tallies. These nations are Iran, Italy, and South Korea.

Based on a report on Al Jazeera, amid the spread of coronavirus in Italy, there is a group of Italians now quarantined in India. These 17 tourists tested positive for the disease.

According to the report, the group of Italians arrived in India when the country has yet to start screening passengers from Italy. The tourists tested positive including their bus driver, an Indian national.

Currently, the group of Italian tourists are quarantined in a facility in New Delhi. India now has 28 positive cases from five (5).

Most countries nowadays are on tight guards to the point of entries in their nations. China’s COVID-19 cases has slowed down but the infection counts in several other countries continue to increase.

As of this writing, a vaccine for COVID-19 has yet to be found. The said disease bear flu-like symptoms including fever, breathing difficulty, and cough. It targets the respiratory system.
