The deadly novel coronavirus or COVID-19 was first reported in Wuhan, China. The city is currently under lockdown to halt the spread of the virus.

3000 people have died while more than 90,000 people worldwide are infected. The virus has swept across Asia and now sparked outbreaks in Europe and the United States.

On Thursday, health authorities have reported 145 new cases. This sums up the total to 5,766 patients that tested positive for the virus. Along with this, South Korea also had 35 fatalities due to the virus.

The outbreak in South Korea could be traced back to a religious sect in Daegu City. Nearly 90 percent of the national totals come from Daegu with over 4,300 confirmed cases.

According to an article from ABS-CBN, because of the rampant spike of infected patients, 11.7 trillion won was proposed by the government to fight the spread.

As per the article, This was part of President Moon Jae-in’s 30-trillion-won package to address the critical condition South Korea is in.

Likewise, US President Donal Trump had also donated his quarterly salary to the Department of Health and Human Services to help with the fight against the spread.

Additionally, the World Bank announced that they will donate $12 billion to help the poor countries cope up and fight the coronavirus. The president of the agency, David Malpass, said the money will be used for their medical equipment and health services.
