Greenhills Center Management Releases Statement Amid Hostage-Taking Incident in San Juan

Following a previous article, V-mall in Greenhills, San Juan City is currently on lockdown due to the shooting incident. Cops immediately responded after receiving the report.
Several netizens shared photos of the situation in the said mall. The authorities were gathered outside the mall entrance. Most of them said they heard gunshots.
Based on the initial investigation, San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said a disgruntled security guard who used to work at V-mall is taking hostages. The suspect’s fellow security guard was shot and was brought to Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
The mayor said the former security guard was fired due to AWOL. Today he came back to make some demands to the management.
Francis Zamora said the security guard has firearms and grenades with him. “We are currently negotiating with this person,” said Zamora. In a report, Senator Richard Gordon posted photos of the ambulances and 11 medics at the mall. They dispatched rescuers for possible augmentation.
An hour ago, ABS-CBN posted Greenhills statement regarding the ongoing hostage-taking incident on Twitter.
“We have confirmed reports of an ongoing incident in Greenhills, involving a hostage-taking of some of our employees by a former SASCOR (Safeguard Armor Security Corporation) security guard. A fellow security guard was injured, but has already been brought to the hospital. Our priority right now is to ensure the safety of the employees, and of the public.”
“The management is working closely and coordinating with the authorities.”
