HOSTAGE SITUATION – Here are photos of the hostage situation at V-Mall in Greenhills, San Juan.
A person may experience trauma after a mass shooting. Most especially when the incident happened in a public place like malls, churches or grocery stores.
On Monday, the authorities reported an alleged shooting at a shopping center in San Juan. Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, Mayor Virgilio Police officers immediately responded on the scene after the Eastern Police District Tactical Operations Center got the report.
A netizen named Jec Carlos shared several photos on the scene. Cops and shoppers were seen gathered at the V-Mall entrance. He said he was just about to enter the mall when he saw the people running out of the mall.
“Live… Hostage Taking daw and barilan at Greenhills Mall bandang Theatre Mall and Vmall 2nd floor… May S.W.A.T. na,” he wrote.
Mayor Francis Zamora shared the initial information they had with ABS-CBN. He said that a disgruntled security guard who used to work in the mall is currently taking hostages. The former employee has firearms and grenades.
“The initial info we have is that a disgruntled security guard who used to work here in Greenhills Shopping Center is currently taking hostages. Initial info also is he has firearms, grenades with him.”
Zamora said the security guard was terminated due to AWOL and today, he came back and made some demands to the office. The suspect even convinces another guard to join him. One was shot during the incident and was rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center. “We are currently negotiating with this person,” he said.
