Plague Inc Removed From China By Cyberspace Watchdog
PLAGUE INC REMOVED FROM CHINA – The popular simulation game Plague Inc had been removed from Apple’s App Store in China, said its developers.
According to the UK-based Ndemic Creations, users based on China could not download “Plague Inc” on Friday following orders from China’s cyber watchdog to remove it over “Illegal” content.
However, the developers said it wasn’t clear if the decision to remove the app was linked to the deadly virus outbreak, COVID-19. Currently, more than 2800 people have died due to the virus and infected 79,000 others.
We have a huge amount of respect for our Chinese players and are devastated that they are no longer able to access and play Plague Inc

Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the developers tried to contact China’s Cyberspace Administration to “understand their concerns and work with them to find a resolution”. However, their query remained unanswered.
Plague Inc was released way back in 2012 and had gotten an occult following of more than 130 million players worldwide.
In addition to this, Ndemic said that their game had been recognized by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as an “educational tool” that teaches people how to protect against a virus outbreak.
Because of this incident, the popular social media platform in China, Weibo, was full of criticism against the government for their decision to pull the game.

I’ve played Plague Inc for so long, I’m so angry! It taught us to wash hands frequently and protect ourselves… Honestly, I learned a lot about infectious diseases from this game,
