Iloilo City Cop To Face Investigation For “Illegal Gun Discharge”

ILOILO CITY – A police officer from the Iloilo City Police Mobile Force is currently facing probe over an alleged illegal discharge of gun.

According to Panay News, The cop, identified as Police Corporal Rolando Lozada Jr., allegedly fired his gun necessarily in Barangay Bolong Este, Santa Barbara, Iloilo province while on his way to the capital city after he had a quarrel with his girlfriend.

This was reported by the director of Iloilo Police Provincial Office Colonel Paul Kenneth Lucas. the incident occurred at around 11:30 PM on February 16.

“When our personnel checked the area, Lozada was no longer around,” 

However, retrieved from the crime scene was a spent bullet shel of a .9mm pistol.

Spokesperson of the local City Police Office Police Captain Shella Mae Sangrines said that upon knowing, they immediately got the service firearm of Lozada, which was identified as a caliber .9mm Glock 17 pistol.

Sangrines added that the Provincial Internal Affairs Service of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office is currently the one enacting the probe since the incident occurred in the province.

As per the report, Lozada will possibly face an administrative charge. He further refused to issue a statement.
