Occidental Mindoro Hit by Earthquake with 3.0 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 3.0 magnitude quake in Occidental Mindoro on February 12, 2020.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking were felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“.
Recently, a quake has hit a part of Occidental Mindoro. At 08:45 am on February 12, 2020, Lubang was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0. An instrumental intensity was recorded of the said quake.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Occidental Mindoro was located at 14.08°North, 119.93°East – 032 km North 40° West of Lubang. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 032 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated that there are no damages and aftershocks expected from the quake. Keep safe everyone. We’ll keep you posted for updates.
