2 Pinoys Repatriated from Wuhan Experience Symptom of Coronavirus
PINOYS REPATRIATED FROM WUHAN – Two (2) Filipinos from Wuhan City, China show a symptom of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
Amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in China which is now referred to as COVID-19, several Filipinos expressed desire to go home to the Philippines. A lot of Pinoys are working in the mainland China.
The Philippine government was quick to address the matter. The government expressed willingness to assist the repatriation of the Filipinos from China with the coordination to the Chinese government.
In line with the plan to repatriate the Filipinos from the epicenter of the novel coronavirus, the government prepared the facilities where they will be quarantined. The quarantine period will last for two (2) weeks.
A few days ago, a batch of the Filipinos repatriated from China arrived in the Philippines. They were brought to Athlete’s Village in the province of Tarlac for their quarantine period.
Initially, the Department of Health (DOH) updated that all the Filipinos from China are feeling well. There are medical staff that monitor them and the crew that fetch them from China are also quarantined.
Recently, an update crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, two (2) Pinoys repatriated from Wuhan are showing a symptom of coronavirus.
According to DOH, there is a total of 32 Filipinos from China and two (2) of them exhibit diarrhea. The said condition is one of the symptoms of the COVID-19 as to the World Health Organization.
Aside from diarrhea, the other symptoms of the disease include fever, shortness of breath, and cough. Based on the report, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III assured that the two (2) Pinoys repatriated from Wuhan are evaluated and they are undergoing tests.
As of this writing, there are still no further information regarding the two (2) Filipinos’ condition. More updates may be posted soon.
