According to a Congress insider, INC allegedly disliked ABS-CBN’s coverage that places the sector into the bad light.

In 2015, INC has been involved in a controversy after some of its members reportedly expressed opposition towards the leaders of the religious group. INC Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo, its mother Cristina “Tenny” Manal, and its brother Felix Nathaniel “Angel” Manalo were involved in the issue.

The controversy started after the video of Ka Angel and Ka Tenny’s voice recording asking for help because their lives were in danger spread online. Eventually, Eduardo removed his mother and brother from the group.
