Raissa Robles Rants Article On San Lazaro Patient Due To This Term, Netizens React

RAISSA ROBLES – Investigative journalist Raissa Robles rants on an article about a San Lazaro Chinese patient due to the term “cervical”.

The article was about a Chinese man who was suspected of coronavirus in the country who died in San Lazaro Hospital.

The Chinese national died due to pneumonia. It however, was yet to determine whetheror not it came from the new 2019-nCoV.

A full report from GMA News states that San Lazaro Hospital director Dr. Edmundo Lopez said that the patient was seen with varying symptoms upon admission, adding that the man had “cervical lesions”, kulani (swells), lung findings, and a wart in the bottom.

This caught the eye of investigative journalist Raissa Robles who tweeted the following:

“Can doctor of San Lazaro pls explain how a “male patient” who died could have “cervical lesions” when males have no cervix? Unless of course he is a transgender. 🤔”

By common understanding, most of us would commonly think that the term cervical would only refer to the part in the female reproductive system, hence, her reaction since it is a “male patient”.

Netizens reacted to the tweet, with some educating Robles that the term cervical could also basically mean “relating to the neck” and not just on what’s in the female reproductive system. Here are some of the reactions on Twitter:

” You only need a bit of common sense to know that lesions mentioned is pertaining to the cervical spine as it is a male patient. Well obviously this Raissa Robles has no common sense at all! “

“exactly. She was trying to shame the doctor and got burned so badly she’ll probably need one herself. Investigative journalist daw pero mag-ttweet di muna mag-iisip. 🤣”

@naughty_noona on Twitter

“She is an example of self-entitled oppositionists who see themselves as always right, even when proven they are wrong.”

@AbnerAbnerasv on Twitter

“Omg!!! I thought ung cervical lang ang hindi nya gets… Pati pala ung “not verified”.
And please mam Raissa Robles, use the name of the strain 2019-nCoV instead. Marami po kasing strain ang corona virus.”
