Wuhan Virus Confirmed In France, First Cases In Europe
WUHAN VIRUS IN FRANCE – Health officials from France had confirmed three cases of the Wuhan coronavirus.
This makes France the first country in Europe to have a confirmed diagnosis of the case. In addition, a second confirmed case was reported in the United States on Friday.
According to a report from France24, the first case involved a patient admitted to a hospital in the southwestern city of Bordeaux. Meanwhile, the second was detected in Paris.
Both patients were put in isolation and were confirmed to have traveled to China recently. In addition, the third case in Paris was announced by the French Health Ministry.
In lieu of this, health officials have stated that they are in the process of tracing the history of the patients to see who they came in contact with.
We have today the first European cases probably because we developed the test very quickly and we are capable of identifying them
As per the report, the first patient who was 48-years-old flew back to France on January 22. The patient seemed “well” and “passed” through Wuhan.
However, he was hospitalized on Thursday in Bordeaux. According to the French Health official, Agnes Buzyn, the patient was likely to have come in contact with dozens of people upon stepping foot on French soil.
Following this, she stated that the second case was only recently been given to her and that she was in no position to disclose it to the public yet.
You have to treat an epidemic as you treat a fire, quickly to locate the source” and “contain it as quickly as possible
